🌊 What is the jet ski safari in Tenerife like?

The experience starts at Los Gigantes Marina.

After arrival, you'll receive a short briefing on how to use the jet ski and the main safety rules. You'll then get the necessary equipment before setting off on the safari.

As you ride along the coast, you'll experience what Tenerife looks like from the Atlantic Ocean. One of the highlights of the route is getting close to the spectacular Los Gigantes cliffs.

The enormous volcanic cliffs look completely different from the sea than they do from land. From the jet ski, you can enjoy the combination of the open Atlantic and the towering cliffs rising hundreds of metres above the coastline.

The safari then continues in the direction of Punta de Teno. Depending on the sea and weather conditions, there may also be an opportunity to stop for a short swim during the tour. 🏊

🏔️ Los Gigantes – Tenerife from the ocean

The Los Gigantes cliffs are one of the best-known natural landmarks on Tenerife's western coast.

These impressive volcanic cliffs rise up to around 600 metres above the Atlantic Ocean in some areas.

They are spectacular from a boat, but experiencing them from a jet ski is something different. You can get closer to the coastline while the ride itself becomes part of the experience.

Even if you've already visited Los Gigantes from land, jet skiing gives you the chance to see this familiar landscape from a completely different perspective. 🌊

🌋 Punta de Teno from the ocean

During the jet ski safari, the route continues towards Punta de Teno.

Located on the western tip of Tenerife, this dramatic volcanic landscape is fascinating both from land and from the sea.

Along the way, you'll pass smaller coves and see the characteristic volcanic coastline of western Tenerife.

The area is connected to the Teno-Rasca Special Conservation Area (ZEC), which is why respecting the natural environment and marine life is an important part of the experience.

⏱️ How long does the jet ski tour last?

However, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

This gives you enough time for check-in, the safety briefing and getting your equipment ready before the tour begins.

🎒 What should you bring?

You don't need to bring much equipment for the jet ski safari, as the most important items are provided by the operator.

What you should bring:

  • 🪪 ID card or passport

  • 👙 Swimwear

  • 🩴 Flip-flops or light footwear

  • 🧴 Sunscreen

  • 🕶️ Sunglasses

  • 💧 Water, especially on warmer days

A wetsuit, life jacket and towel are provided as part of the programme.

We recommend wearing swimwear that is comfortable to move around in and that you don't mind getting wet.

What not to take on the jet ski

For safety reasons, using your own camera while riding the jet ski is not permitted. Therefore, it is better not to take your phone, camera or other valuables out onto the water.

Lockers are available at the meeting point where you can safely leave your belongings.

📍 Where does the jet ski safari start?

Puerto Deportivo de Los Gigantes

The programme starts from Los Gigantes Marina.

🚗 Arriving by car

For navigation, search for “Puerto Deportivo Los Gigantes”.

There is paid parking at the marina, but the number of spaces is limited, and finding a parking spot in Los Gigantes can sometimes be difficult.

For this reason, we recommend allowing some extra time for parking rather than arriving at the last minute.

🚌 Arriving by bus

From southern Tenerife, you can reach the Los Gigantes area using bus lines 473 or 477.

From the north, bus 325 can be used from the direction of Puerto de la Cruz.

We recommend checking the current public transport timetable before travelling, as schedules may change.

⏰ When should you arrive?

We recommend being at the meeting point 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

If you're arriving by car, allow a little extra time in case you need to find a parking space.

🌤️ What happens if the weather is bad?

💙 Who is the jet ski safari suitable for?

Jet skiing in Tenerife is a great option if you're looking for something more active than a traditional boat trip and want to explore the island's coastline in a more adventurous way.

Jet skiing in Tenerife combines the feeling of being out on the Atlantic Ocean with the excitement of speed and spectacular views of the volcanic coastline around Los Gigantes.

It can be particularly suitable if you:

  • 🏍️ enjoy active experiences,

  • 🌊 like spending time on the ocean,

  • 🏔️ want to see Los Gigantes from a different perspective,

  • 📸 are looking for a more unusual Tenerife experience,

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 are travelling as a couple or family and want to enjoy an activity together,

  • or simply want to find out what jet skiing in Tenerife is really like.

🌴 Adan Tours Tenerife tip

We don't think it's worth coming all the way to Los Gigantes just for one activity.

If you're planning a jet ski safari, you could also consider adding a boat trip to your day and see the famous cliffs from another perspective.

However, we don't necessarily recommend trying to fit several activities back-to-back. Tenerife's western coast is much more enjoyable when you leave some time to explore the harbour and surrounding area and have a relaxed lunch.

If you book your activities with us, we're happy to help you plan the timing and decide which experiences work well together, so you don't spend your day unnecessarily travelling from one place to another.
